"Living in the moment is a gift. That's why they call it the present." – Ted Lasso

What's Next?

The last 30 days have felt like 300. It’s been a month since the book launched, and three weeks since my first TEDx talk. It’s been 30 of the most fulfilling, jam-packed days of my life, full of book events, speaking, press, and birthdays (because myself and half my friends and family were born in June). I even went to an Angel City women's soccer game and met the REAL coach Beard from Ted Lasso.

Many of you have reached out, written incredibly kind reviews, or taken the time to buy or share Will to Wild. Thank you for your support! It means the world to me.

As I reach this point in the book process, I keep getting this re-occurring question:

“WHAT’S NEXT?”

My answer is a little surprising to some.

“RADICAL REST.”

I know enough about finish lines, about starting, and about the journey, that you have to rest and recharge enough to be able to do meaningful work. I've started to print the kind reviews, including messages that said Will to Wild completely changed their life! I want to savior these notes.

Reviews mean everything to writer's books. You can write one on Goodreads, on REI.com, and on Amazon, even if you did not buy the books there. These links will take you right where you need to go. Thank you to all of you who have already submitted reviews. Some are pretty funny.

I am still hosting REI Co-op's Wild Ideas Worth Living Podcast and have been interested in interviewing people exploring what’s above us (space) and what’s below us (under the deepest parts of the ocean). I’ll be speaking with an astrophysicist and a deep sea journalist next week, and I just did a wonderful interview with a musician-turned-freediver who is also headed to appear America’s Got Talent. I have a feeling he’s gonna do well.

I’m continuing to be a guest on other podcasts. While I'm a bit tired of talking about myself (who would have ever thought? ha! ;) it’s fun to connect with other podcasters. I’m also continuing to do speaking engagements as I love practicing my bad jokes live.

Most importantly, I am going to spend some time in the trees and mountains. I believe trees have a way of recharging our cells just like negative ions from ocean waves.

This newsletter will be evolving. I want to focus more outward. On YOU! If you have any ideas for what you want me to write more of, and things that can help you, please let me know.

Thank you again for your support.

Also – TONIGHT’s EVENT at REI in Los Angeles– I am postponing until late summer or fall. With the holiday weekend and so many people out of town, we want to wait a few more weeks to make it happen.

Thank you for understanding.
