Episode 26: The Joy of Writing with Adam Skolnick
I love interviewing authors and journalists, especially ones who cover things like freediving and rock climbing. These are my people! This is why I was so excited to chat with Adam Skolnick.
Adam is an award-winning independent journalist and author who covers adventure sports, environmental issues, travel and human rights for publications like The New York Times, Outside, Playboy and Lonely Planet. He is the author of One Breath: Freediving, Death and the Quest to Shatter Human Limits, and the ghost-writer and narrator of David Goggins’ smash hit memoir and audiobook Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds. He is also a co-host on the Rich Roll Podcast.
In this episode, Adam and I talk about his writing process and how writing brings him joy. We also get into his journey to make a living as a writer, including the story of ghost-writing and independently publishing one of the best selling books ever. If you’re curious about writing, if you want to make a living doing what you love, or if you like to challenge yourself David Goggins-style -- this one's for you. Enjoy!
